2) Imam Ali was the son in law of Prophet Muhammad who was killed while praying in the mosque at Kufa (Iraq).
3) This even took place on 21st of Islamic month of Ramadam in 661 A.D. Since Islamic calendar follow luner movement every year the days keep moving back 10 days as apposed to Gregorian calander that is fixed. It happens so that in 2009, the 21st of Ramadan happens of fall on the 11th of September.

November 19, 2009 was the First day of the Islamic month, Dhu al Hajjah, year 1430 (the Wedding day of Imam Ali (AS) and Bibi Fatima Zehra (SA)) according to the Islamic Calendar. The store owner closed the store to celebrate this happy occasion which most Muslims celebrate every year. So please think outside the box and stop thinking that everything Muslims do is related to 9/11. There are bad apples in every bunch, not just in Muslims. Educate yourself by doing some research before you start pointing fingers and “feeling sick” about what you saw at a mall. Sorry this is the September 2009 calendar that shows September 11, 2009 was 21st Ramadhan according to the Shia Islamic Calendar which was the day Imam Ali (AS) peace be upon him was killed. I looked up the November calendar earlier because your article was posted on November 18, 2009 which threw me off.

Upon receiving this email, I decided to check before fowarding. While the store owner’s explanation is acceptable but clearly, while he claims to BE an American, he demonstrates an absolute absence of sensitivity to the attack on our nation.
Muslims do not appear to be in the least interested in assimilating into America but instead are seeking to Islamitize us. As Americans become more educated regarding Islam, we will make clear it is they who must assimilate to our society, not the other way around.
Islam may have some religious aspects to it but, in fact, it is not a religion. Islam is an all inclusive way of life: their laws, their social structure, their moral codes and all runs in absolute opposition to our Constitution, to our ways.
It is they who chose to live in America and thus, it is they who must learn to respect and adopt our ways.
